Inamin ni Marjorie Barretto na patuloy pa rin ang pag-aaway nilang tatlong magkakapatid na sina Claudine at Gretchen Barretto. Ngunit ito daw ay hindi dahil sa poot at galit sa isa’t isa.
Sa YouTube interview kasama si Celestine Gongaza-Soriano o mas kilala bilang Toni Gonzaga, pinag-usapan ng dalawa ang hidwaan ng magkakapatid na Barretto na naging laman ng balita at kontrobersya.
“As we continue to honor mothers this month, I am so grateful to sit down with Ms. Marjorie Barretto. She became a mother at 19 and fought her way to be the strong woman and strong mother that she is today.
“We talked about forgiveness, dealing with pain, handling public scrutiny and the judgment her kids endured. So much wisdom from her. I learned a lot and I hope you will too,” ang panimula ni Gonzaga.
Nang tanungin kung nagkabati-bati na ba si Marjorie, Claudine, at Gretchen, inamin ni Marjorie na mas nagiging payapa ang kanyang buhay kahit may agwat sa kanilang tato.
“Parang there’s just too much pain na it’s just gonna be more peaceful kung hindi bati. But it doesn’t mean that karga-karga ko araw-araw, na nagigising akong galit nag alit sa kanila. Hindi eh, hindi ganun,” ang pag-aamin ni Gretchen.
Pagdating naman sa emosyonal na kalusugan ni Gretchen, simple lang ang naging sagot ng aktres. “Definitely not from a place of hate. I don’t look back at it na masakit pa yung dibdib ko. I won’t wish ill of them.”
Dagdag pa niya, mas pinipili ni Gretchen ang kapayapaan kaysa sa pagbabati nilang tatlo.
“It’s not coming from a place of unforgiveness. I just want peace,” pagpapaliwanag ni Gretchen.
Sa isang realisasyon, tinanong ni Gonzaga kung kumportable na ba si Marjorie na hindi alam ng publiko ang kanyang bersyon ng kwento kapalit ng kapayapaan at katahimikan. Sumang-ayon naman dito si Marjorie.
“I can shut down from the judgment of other people. There’s much that they don’t really know that goes on behind that story. I refuse to share. We are public figures but we are not public property. Because at the end of the day, kahit anong sikat mo, pag-uwi mo, we are normal like everybody else. We have the same problem, the same needs.
“I want to protect that side of us because that side of the fame, that’s not forever. So ito na lang ang poprotektahan ko. I know how to shut down from judgment. I know how to not listen to the bad things they say about me. I know myself more. I know my children more. I know they all have good hearts.”
Dating malapit ang tatlo sa isa’t isa hanggang sa nagkaroon ng problema si Claudine sa kanilang kay Gretchen at Marjorie.
Kinalaunan ay nagkabati rin si Claudine at Gretchen, ngunit hindi si Marjorie.
Isa sa pinaka-kontrobersyal na away ng tatlo ang bangayan ni Marjorie, Claudine, at Gretchen sa lamay ng kanilang ama noong Oktubre 2019. Naisapubliko ang video kung saan personal pa itong nasaksihan ni Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
